Forget the billionaires. They will start launching celebrities into space in October

Remember when Jeff Bezos went into space thanks to his new business, Blue Origin? There wasn’t much a billionaire could do to masquerade as a villain rather than nickel and his vast army of employees, all the while moving away from them and the Earth itself. .

Blue Origin really needs good publicity. What this business needs is therefore a face. A great name. Someone that everyone can root for. Tom hanks was only the face of COVID so it definitely came out, but William shatner will would have gone to space at the behest of Jeff Bezos. This, by TMZ, which says it’s anything but a done deal. Shatner will get his own glimpse of the pale blue dot from above via the New Shepard’s upcoming flight. Launch date in October.

Look, Shatner deserved it. All in all, the guy spent more time in a fake space than most of the cast. The original Star Trek was three seasons, plus there was the anime voiced by Shatner, and he reprized his role as Captain Kirk for several films. Plus, he owes something, I guess, to enduring a lifetime of overzealous impressions from Trekkies and Kirk, that he doesn’t seem to like. At 90, he would be the oldest man to go to space, notes TMZ, and that’s something, isn’t it? Isn’t that something?

The whole thing would be supposed to be filmed for an unnamed documentary project, but there is another documentary-type project worth mentioning here. Singer and former child star Demi Lovato spoke again about their encounter with aliens while promoting Unidentified with Demi Lovato, an upcoming Peacock series. They were at Joshua Tree and there was this blue orb. Here is Demi: “Basically I saw this blue orb that was about 50 feet away, maybe less, and it was kind of like floating above the ground, just 10 or 15 feet away, and it was sort of so its distance from me. ”

“It was a wonderful and incredible experience,” they said, not for the first time.

All of this to say that Shatner doesn’t have to go all the way to outer space to see something extraordinary. Joshua Tree is right there.
