DIA’s Jung Chae-yeon and BtoB’s Yook Sung-jae have both been confirmed to star in brand new K-Drama fantasy drama called Golden spoon (literal translation).
The upcoming drama series, based on a digital comic of the same name, follows a child born to a poor family who meets and uses a mysterious magical gold spoon to change fates with a friend from a wealthy family.
Jung’s agency PocketDol Studio announced yesterday (January 11) in a statement to News that the idol-turned-actress would star in the upcoming MBC K drama as the lead female role, as translated by Soompi.
She will star alongside BtoB member Yook Sung-jae, who was first confirmed to be part of the Golden spoon sunk in November 2021, by Soompi. He will play a student named Lee Seung-chun, who stumbles upon the golden spoon and uses it in hopes of changing his life.
Golden spoon will be directed by Song Hyun-wook, whose filmography includes popular series and films such as The affection of the king, another Oh Hae-young, the beauty within and more.
The series is written by Kim Eun-hee, who previously worked on the screenplays for Winter sonata and sweet 18, among others. Golden spoon is expected to be released in the second half of 2022.
In other news, it was confirmed that model actor Kim Woo-bin will make his long-awaited return as a frontman in an upcoming Netflix sci-fi drama, Black Knight. This will be his first television project since that of KBS2 Uncontrollable love in 2016.
