Mushroom e-commerce brand Shroomboom celebrates its launch with celebrity guests – vegconomist

Mushroom-focused e-commerce brand Shroomboom has officially launched with an event in Los Angeles, designed to help customers “discover the essence of what Shroomboom is.”

Celebrity guests such as Google co-founder Sergey Brin, actress and entrepreneur Tallulah Willisfashion designer Alana Hadid, actress Clive Standenco-founder of Brex Henrique Dubugras and founder of Luma Beauty Jess Hart appeared at the event.

Guests were able to sample a range of mushroom foods, including burgers, gummies, bread and hot pot. They were also invited to try on clothes and shoes made from or inspired by mushrooms. Even the music for the event was mushroom-based, made by connecting mushrooms to a sound system.

Promoting mushroom-based innovations

Shroomboom was co-founded by Alejandra Rodriguez, who took psilocybin while recovering from an eating disorder, and Jennifer Parke, passionate about the health benefits of mushrooms. The brand promotes mushroom-based innovations in various sectors, including beauty, health, food, fashion and sustainability.

The mushroom market

A report released earlier this year found mushrooms to be a key trend in 2022, after sales rose 16.1% to $420 million. According to the American collective The Mushroom Council, this is the fourth consecutive year that experts have identified mushrooms as a major trend. In February, a report predicted the global mushroom market to reach $86.5 billion by 2027, growing at a CAGR of 6.5%.

“Our mission with Shroomboom is to educate the world about the power of mushrooms,” Rodriguez said. “We do this by using our magazine ‘The Boom’, by collaborating with artists, thinkers, creators, brands aligned with our mission and by offering our own mushroom-based health and beauty products to the most as many people as possible!”
