Thieves target another Ulta Beauty store; steal $2,000 worth of products: the police

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. (WPVI) — Montgomery County police are looking for a group of thieves who stole more than $2,000 worth of products from an Ulta Beauty store.

On Friday, investigators released video of when they filled a trash bag with perfumes and other items on Jan. 12. Police said it happened at the store in the 2500 block of Chemical Road in Plymouth Meeting.

Police believe the same suspects targeted other Ulta sites along the I-95 corridor in Delaware, New York and Connecticut.

“I think Ulta has some high-end fragrances that they can get a decent amount of money for resale,” said Plymouth Township Police Lt. Douglas Copestick.

In January, an Ulta Beauty store in Lower Macungie Township was also targeted.

The same Ulta Beauty store was also targeted by criminals with trash bags on November 29, 2021.

In both cases, the suspects drove off in a Toyota Highlander.

“It’s sad for me,” said Joshua Zolten of Mount Airy. “I know there are people who need things right now because of what’s going on in society.”

About two weeks later, on January 28, Plymouth Township police say two women entered the same Ulta beauty store and stole more than $3,000 worth of perfume.

On February 1, officers were seated outside Ulta when three people entered Off Saks Fifth Avenue, which is directly across from Ulta’s parking lot. The suspects stole more than $2,400 in purses. While escaping, police say one of the suspects pushed an employee who was trying to arrest them.

“I think it’s appalling, and it’s scary, and it makes me want to stay home and not go shopping or go anywhere,” said Nancy Siegel of Lansdale.

And just yesterday, police said different suspects robbed several stores in Metroplex. Fine Wine and Good Spirits, Guitar Center, Target and Lowes were all targeted over a six-hour period.

Anyone with information about the crime or the suspects is asked to contact the police.
